This proposed project aims to design a domestic security automation system using GSM technology. Using this design, optimum results with flexibility and adaptability can be obtained. The system model has two systems. The first subsystem is wireless communication section that is GSM modem. The GSM modem acts as a communication interface between the user and home automation system. For exchanging of signals, this GSM modem will use SMS technology between the users and home automation system. And the second subsystem is the microcontroller unit which is integrated with all sensors. This micro controller is an essential part of home automation system, which acts as a bridge between the GSM network and home automation system. The sensors and actuators are linked to the micro controller hardware with the help of using appropriate interface. This proposed system will support a various applications in home automation sector such as security, multimedia, power management components and telecommunication. The security of the proposed system will depend on the user authentication of each SMS exchange. The user can easily configure the settings of home automation system with the help of using RS232 protocol, which is a user-friendly interface.
